I am absolutely thrilled to be included in this exhibition at Thompson’s Galleries in Marylebone, London. Called Cornish Perspectives: Contemporary Art from the Peninsula – this new group exhibition celebrates the brilliance of Cornwall’s robust creative community. It contains paintings & sculpture unveiled by names known and new to Thompson’s London.
My contribution to this great show is two large paintings entitled Solitude I and II and I was thrilled to see them both hanging in the window on opening – alongside works from one of Cornwall’s, and indeed Britain’s, finest abstract artists – Sir Terry Frost.
Solitude I & II are a continuation of my VESSELS collection and are a celebration of solitude. One of the positives I have taken from the pandemic and the lockdowns is that solitude, when chosen as part of a rich fulfilling life, is enriching. As Joseph Roux said: “solitude vivifies, isolation kills”.
The exhibition is on from 8 June – 2 July 2022, at 3 Seymour Place and I can thoroughly recommend a visit.
