I featured in the 9th install of Roy’s Art Fair held in the flagship venue of the atmospheric Bargehouse at the iconic OXO Tower on London’s glorious South Bank at the end of September/early October.
The Bargehouse is a vastly untouched, beautifully decaying, historical, urban warehouse made up of a series of thirteen very different spaces found through a maze of four floors. With a combination of exposed brickwork, peeling paint, white walls, and black walls, it creates a fascinating backdrop for exhibitions, which adds to the overall experience of the show. Plus, its location is amazing. It’s situated within Oxo Tower Wharf on the South Bank of the River Thames, just behind the famous Oxo Tower, surrounded by iconic landmarks such as the London Eye, Tate Modern, and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Although this was my fifth foray into the London art scene in the last 15 months, the previous outings were about bringing a bit of Cornwall to London. For this fair, I took London to London! Indeed, I created some new works based on the Oxo Tower itself – as well as new and older works from various other locations across the South Bank.
My work looked fabulous in this setting.
- Oxo Tower Red
- South Bank Yellow
- The Words of the Prophets
To experience the London artworks – please visit the designated web page on these works.
In addition to the London Landmarks Collection, other artworks on display at the fair were predominantly from my Through Dark Collection.
The Private View was really good fun – with many friends and clients visiting. Across the four days I made new friends, acquired new customers, had some great conversations and many laughs. I also sold well across all categories of original artworks, prints (including of the new London works) and other products.
Originals sold include:
- Oxo Tower Red 2
- Sink 2
- Pulsing Through Dark 4
All in all, it was a great experience and I’m really glad I did it.
I shall be looking for further opportunities to show my work in London.
