Original – Acrylics, beeswax, rope and resin on canvas, mounted and framed in black wood frame, 34cm x 64cm x 4cm
It’s a Thin Line 1 is built from many layers, each one intensifying the emotional depth of the piece. Dominated by the colour red, the painting channels raw human emotions—love, passion, hate, and anger—revealing how closely intertwined they are. Two bold blocks of layered red tones stand in tension, divided by fragments of sand and rope. This separation embodies the fragile boundary between love and hate, passion and anger, reminding us that these opposing forces often manifest in strikingly similar ways and lie closer together than we care to admit.
Beyond its exploration of personal emotion, the painting speaks to the global condition. The larger block above suggests hope and conviction, projecting the belief that love will ultimately overcome hate. The salvaged rope introduces texture and memory, grounding the work in fragments of lived experience and resilience. Together, these elements create a visceral commentary on both the intimate and universal struggles of human existence.
The painting is signed on the back and comes framed and ready to hang.
