The Pulsing Through Dark artworks form part of my Through Dark Collection – a largely monochrome set of more reflective paintings.

The Through Dark Collection originated from the lockdowns of winter 2020/21. This period heralded a darker phase to my work – a clear contrast to the sunny brights of the preceeding spring and summer. My art took a reflective and personal – indeed visceral – turn reflecting the mood at that time which was much more sombre.

The mini series Pulsing Through Dark came later and expresses the human response to getting through adversity. These paintings have crimson pulsing through them reflecting life blood.
